I'm Not Afraid of The Dark

Twenty-Twenty Blindsight

For Sander Hicks and Darren Ross

White cheeks flexing
as if I hadn’t seen them
with My Own Eyes
I remembered Nothing
but the Heat of the Blood
as it raced to my Heart
(-(-the Sweet of it/the Meat of it-)-)
Bloodletting
is a Socially Acceptable form
of Criticism,
Damnation
being the Hidden Agenda/
I am tired of the Cuttings
I give Myself
against the Razor’s Edge of Wit/
Comedy
is only the Effect of my Ignorance,
not the Cause/
So if I had
Eyes Outside My Eyes
I would Drink the Light/Drain the Vegetarian of his Blood/for
the Sight of the Vision of Beauty is the Life of It/As
if I hadn’t seen it
with My Own Eyes/or
these Dark Angels Flying/these Vampires Descending
to suck up
my Vision
into Burning Black Stupidity
